You did it! You booked your first boudoir shoot and we are excited to see you in our studio. Now, we know this is when some anxiety can creep in, especially if you’ve never done one before. That’s ok, we can help.

Here are a few tips to help you nourish your body and skin five days before the photo shoot.

Five Days Out – Boudoir Shoot

Double your water intake and lower your salt intake. This will help flush out toxins in your system while nourishing your skin. Too much salt in your diet and you’ll retain water. So, just be mindful of your H2O and sodium for radiant skin.

Schedule that manicure, hair color and lip balm every day. You’ll want a fresh coat of paint on your nails (no chips). Take care of any roots that are showing. And don’t forget to moisturize your pucker. Chapped lips are nearly impossible to photo shop.

Wax about 3-5 days out. Never do it the day before. When you do it a few days out, any redness or bumps will be minimal. Typically it takes your skin a bit to calm down after a waxing, which is about 24-48 hours.

Educate yourself on spray tans. If you get a spray tan, the only one we recommend is from Tancouver. Deb will give you all the essential information you need to prepare your skin. Also, her tans do not leave an “orange” residue/look to the skin.

Don’t forget to use body lotion especially on the areas that are prone to get dry, elbows, knees and feet.

Get your beauty rest. ‘Nuff said. It’s more than just getting a good night’s sleep, it’s being mentally alert and excited. It’s hard to focus on yourself and your body, if you’re tired and fighting holding back a yawn. Come in alert, hydrated, rested and happy.
