Lux Boudoir is Vancouver’s premier boudoir studio. Through a passion for photography and a desire to help women discover their inner and outer beauty, we have cultivated a strong business presence helping women to truly believe in their beauty and themselves.
It’s not about how you look but rather how you feel about the way you look. Confidence is truly a beautiful thing. Confidence is what we all need. Confidence, self acceptance and personality is what we bring out in the women we photograph. You are perfect now. It is our job to coach and find the model within you that has been there all along.
Some of us forget what it’s like to feel beautiful and strong along the way. We get too busy with our lives, our family & our jobs.
This experience is for you to feel that again… because you truly are perfect right now.
When you book your shoot we will send you a questionnaire so we can get to know you a bit before you come in. Once you arrive on the day of your boudoir session, we will go through your wardrobe and plan out your shoot. From there our professional hair/makeup artist will be ready to create the perfect look you’re going for.
We have a gorgeous natural light studio with different sets, a shower set (if you want to get some hot and steamy images) as well as a fun patio set which will create variety of looks within your photoshoot.
All you need to do it show up! All of our sessions come with professional hair/makeup services, as we want you to feel pampered, glamorous and confident.

We will pose you from the top of your head down to your toes, you don't have to do anything but let us do the work for you. As you can see there's nothing to worry about, we've got you covered!

We book 2-3 month in advance.
Session Day! Arrive at the studio and spend time getting glam with our
hair and makeup artist. Don't worry we will help you pick out the best outfits for your shoot, you will feel pampered.
About 2-3 weeks after your session, you will come back to see your amazing photos and decide which images to order and take home.
We will begin your boudoir shoot after your makeup transformation and change up your outfits as we go!

The Client Timeline
Professional hair and makeup is such an essential part of the boudoir photography experience; it can make or break your photo shoot and that’s why we only work with the best makeup and hair artists!
We have hand selected professional hair/makeup stylists that we've worked with for years. Not only do they know how to give you the perfect look you’re wanting, but most importantly they know how to do makeup for the particular lighting and retouching techniques we use.
The day of your session, our makeup artist will chat with you about the makeup style you are looking to do and make her own recommendations based on skin type, eye shape, and more. We always suggest coming in with a general idea.
Your clothing colour pallet will also be part of the decision for your eyes and lips, because the last thing we want is for your makeup to clash with your outfits!
Do you have a specific look in mind? In addition to your questionnaire, feel free to create a pinterest board and send us the link!
Professional Makeup and Hair
One of the most common concerns about doing a boudoir shoot is, what will I wear?
We ask our clients to bring 6-8 different looks. Also remember to bring a variety of items, not just all bra and pantie sets.
A good rule of thumb is, if you would not wear it to work then it is probably perfect for your shoot! When you book, you will start to receive some prep emails, spaced out from the time you book to the date of your shoot.
It will include a guide that lists our favourite websites and also has information about different types of lingerie. We have a good number of outfits and accessories at the studio that you can borrow.
However, It is very important that you bring your wardrobe so you know it fits you properly. Fit is SO important. We can not fix lingerie that doesn't fit in Photoshop.
What to Wear
Relax, this is the easy part!
We have photographed hundreds of women of all shapes and sizes. We will tell you everything to do, from the angles of your head the whole way to your toes.
We have over 10 years of training in posing to ensure that you are always posed in the most flattering ways and under the most flattering lighting.
Once it’s time for your shoot we will just ask you to do simple things such as: “bring that shoulder towards me, bring your chin forward a bit, now look up at me with your eyes, put your hand here, etc.”
It’s super simple and again you don’t need to do anything to prepare for this.
How to Pose
"Do you use Photoshop?" This is the number one question we are asked. The answer is "YES".
You can rest easy knowing that we’ve been in business for over 10 years and our customers love how we do this. We like to say we do magazine style editing, images ready to be in a magazine!
We are not changing your body or making you look “different”. You will still be YOU, just a retouched glamorous version of you!
We are simply removing unwanted blemishes, bruises etc. and leaving the image looking flawless and bringing out your beauty.
Most of our clients see themselves for the first time and are in utter shock, some even cry when they realize they are beautiful and worthy of being on the cover of a magazine.
Retouching
About two weeks after your session, you will come back for your Reveal & Ordering appointment to view and choose your images you would love enough to buy!

On the day of your photo shoot, all you have to do is show up! We will handle the rest!

The Boudoir Session Timeline
When you come back for your ordering session, we’ll go through and narrow them down to your favourites.
Our clients always are nervous at this part because they actually have to decide, but not to worry, we have a great process to narrow down to the images you love and it will be so easy.
Once we’ve narrowed them down we’ll figure out your artwork choices. Our handmade albums are very popular for boudoir! They come in stunning leathers and fabric cover options.
We have wall art that is perfect to hang in the bedroom, your walk-in closet, in your master bath, in his workshop, etc.
We’ve even had a client hang hers in her home office so she could admire herself every day and get that extra boost of confidence!
Most of our clients get their photos in an album along with one or more pieces of wall art to display privately.
Nothing is better than waking up to a gorgeous photo of yourself every single day!

To book your boudoir photo shoot with Vancouver's Lux Boudoir, we do require up front a non-refundable session fee.
This fee will cover our prep, booking your professional hair/makeup artist, time photographing, time editing,
and your full experience.
This does not include products or digitals, which may be purchased separately at your Viewing & Ordering session.

Your investment in your artwork depends solely on you. Some clients come in with a specific budget in mind and spend just that amount. Some clients want it all, and purchase accordingly.
Pricing begins at $799, but most clients choose to invest between $3,000 and $5,000 on their custom artwork. You make your artwork decision once you have seen your final images, so come in with an idea of what you are wanting and we can go from there.
Our goal is for you to be absolutely in love with all of your images that you take home, so if that is all of them, great!
If you love only a few, that’s fine as well, the decision is yours.

I’M NOT REALLY INTO LINGERIE. CAN I STILL DO BOUDOIR?
Definitely! We all think of different things when we think sexy. You can do your boudoir shoot wearing in a variety of non lingerie things like a robe, button-down, boy shorts etc. Some of the best shots are in the sheets! Let us know if you are interested in a more in-depth wardrobe consult.
I’M NOT SURE I FEEL COMFORTABLE SPENDING MONEY ON MYSELF.
A lot of time our clients are not used to making themselves a priority, we get it. We know you are worth it and that’s why we offer payment plans to make a lux boudoir experience manageable for any budget. This is an experience that you will remember and you’ll be able to look back at your pictures and cherish the memories and experience for years to come.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE MY PICTURES?
Most women feel this way, but not too worry… we are very good at what we do. We have photographed boudoir for over 10 years and 1000+ women, we are very confident that you will love the experience and love your images even more. However, if for any reason you’re unsatisfied, you are under no obligation to purchase any of your photos. If you have doubts, check out the testimonials on the info page!
