When you’re starting out in the world of lingerie, especially thinking about what works for a boudoir photoshoot, knowing what to wear can be more than a little intimidating. But, that’s okay. We’ve got you!
Whether you’re getting ready for your photoshoot, or just planning on having some fun, knowing the best lingerie options for your body type is the first step to rocking them with confidence.
The best part is, you might actually be surprised by how many unique and beautiful ways you can wear these fun and fabulous lingerie styles.
1. Bras and Panty Sets
So the most traditional option is the bra and panty set. Not sure where to start? You can never go wrong with black! Black is classic and timeless. It is also easy to pair tops and bottoms with. If you want to spice it up a bit, try finding some bra and panty sets in pastel, muted, or primary colours to bring a pop of colour to your images. Also, a good rule of thumb, try to avoid low-rise panties if your midsection is an area you feel a little self-conscious about, instead go for the mid-rise, or high-waisted version.
2. Body Suit or Shapewear
If you’re a little self conscious about your midsection, try a sexy body suit. Not only is this style of lingerie perfect for showing off your curves, but shapewear can actually be more flattering, while leaving a bit more to the imagination.
3. Creative Pieces
When you’re choosing lingerie don’t be afraid to go for something more creative. Lingerie should be anything but boring. Lace, embellishments or sheer fabric are all great options for your boudoir shoot. Don’t be afraid to try the more adventurous pieces, they will give you a lot more variety.
4. Accessories
Like every great outfit, your lingerie should be paired with the right accessories. And the great thing about these accessories is that they don’t have to be expensive! A pearl necklace(doesn’t have to be real), some thigh highs or a great pair of heels can elevate any outfit. I love the pairing in the image here with the necklace and coat.
*Pro Tip: When you’re looking for the perfect lingerie, stay away from g-strings. They tend to be unflattering on pretty much everyone.
