The unknown can be a bit intimidating, can’t it? Walking into situations where you aren’t sure what to expect can feel a little daunting, I get that. Which is why today, I wanted to share with you a little peak behind the curtain, to give you a better idea of what to expect on the day of your boudoir photoshoot.
Ensuring our clients feel comfortable and confident from the moment they walk into our studio is our top priority. We offer a private studio, entirely female staffed, to help ensure your comfort from the beginning. Upon arrival at our studio, you will be greeted by your photographer and hair/make-up artist. Our boudoir studio is a gorgeous loft space, offering many different photo vignettes, and you’ll start your day with your hair and makeup artist.
Your stylist is commited to ensuring you are ecstatic with your look. Feel free to bring reference photos if you have a particular look in mind. While she is working, you’ll be offered a glass of Prosecco to help calm any nerves – or a cuppa tea if that’s more your style. Your photographer will also be there while you are having your hair and make-up done, as this is a great time for you and her to chat and foster some familiarity, which really helps to put you at ease before the camera comes out.
Once your hair and make-up is looking fabulous, you and your photographer will head upstairs to the loft space. Here you’ll have a little chat about your vision for the shoot, take a look at any reference images you may have brought, and take a look at your wardrobe. Together, you’ll finalize your outfits, ensuring there is bit of variety in your shots, and that both you and your vision are represented. Once decided, you’ll get changed into your first outfit, whichever one you feel the most comfortable in. Then your photoshoot begins.
This is the part that most of our clients are nervous about. We get it! Most of our clients have never had intimate portraits done, many have never had professional photos of any kind. You are probably not used to being in front of a camera, and might feel a little apprehensive. Don’t worry! This is completely normal, and we are pros at creating a safe, fun environment. We are also experts at making women look and feel their best. Your photographer will help you with all the poses, and guide you through how to get the best facial expressions.
During your photoshoot, your photographer will be moving you throughout our loft studio, creating a variety of images. You’ll change into your other outfits, and depending on your selected package, have the opportunity to do nude photos, “in the sheets” and even shower photos. Your whole experience will last two-three hours. Boudoir photoshoots are a bit of a workout, so don’t be surprised if you’re a little bit tired afterwards.
Once your photoshoot is finished, we’ll take a couple weeks to edit your photos, and then you will be invited back into our studio for your viewing appointment. During your viewing session, you will get to see all the stunning photos your photographer captured of you and choose the ones you want in your album, as well as any artwork you may want to take home. The viewing session is such a wonderful experience and can create such a remarkable shift for our clients when they seem themselves in this new light.
That’s it! I hope this has helped you to feel a little more comfortable with doing a boudoir photoshoot. Of course, if you still have any questions, or hesitations, we would be happy to talk with you during a free consultation.
