At its core, boudoir is about celebrating the beauty of the female body. The way it moves, the way it curves and folds, the strength and softness. Each woman is uniquely beautiful, boudoir is a way to celebrate your unique beauty.

From childhood, we learn that there are expectations for our bodies – how we look, how we behave, when and if we are “allowed” to be seen or heard. In a society where we are inundated with messages of beauty standards and what it means to be a woman, taking authority over our own bodies is an act of beautiful rebellion.

Boudoir is a medium for women to take authority over themselves, to celebrate their own beauty, to connect with and claim their sexuality. It’s a declaration to yourself that you are worthy, you are enough, you are powerful.

Doing a boudoir photoshoot is a way for you to celebrate yourself as you are. You don’t need to lose weight first. In fact, you don’t have to change anything about yourself to proclaim yourself to be a gorgeous, confident, sexual woman. You are worthy as you are.

“I need to lose weight first” (or a similar concern over one’s aesthetic) is one of the most common reasons we hear for why women are afraid to book in for a boudoir photoshoot. And we understand. I don’t think there is a person alive who hasn’t dealt with body-related insecurity. But this isn’t a reason to not do a photoshoot; it’s the very reason to do a photoshoot. It’s a way to change the story you’re telling yourself into something positive. A photoshoot is a way to see yourself in a new way. Boudoir is a way to say to yourself, I am gorgeous, I am enough, I am worthy, exactly as I am.
